Having quick insight into network operations is critical to assuring revenue-generating service performance -- to monitor converged or disparate infrastructure and applications and maintain maximum performance thereby minimizing risks associated with service disruptions. Symmetricom offers a high level of performance & SLM solutions for customers requiring a bird's eye view into network performance, providing the most comprehensive product suite for network performance assurance.
Symmetricom NOC Software offers network monitoring for network quality control to monitor Service Level Specifications (SLS) of a network. Each test running in the system can be mapped to a Service Level Management (SLM) scenario. All results collected are tested on the fly against the SLS for which they are activated. If one of the SLS metrics for a specific test is not achieved an alarm is raised in the system for the combination SLM, violated parameter of the SLM, faulty test and scenario.
Up to 16 different SLMs can be defined in the system. Each SLM can check QoS parameters for one or several applications (IPPM, VoIP, TVoIP Services and QS [TCP Quality Score]). QoS parameters are application dependent.
The SLMs are split into several entities according to the type of service to test. For each test type, users can specify differing sets of parameters to check.
