Network Probes are core components of Symmetricom's QoE solutions to provide a reliable benchmark (MOS score) that enables CSPs to monitor and diagnose the perceptual impact of video quality impairments that may be introduced by either transmission over an IP network or from artifacts introduced by various encoding methodologies. Network probes work end-to-end, enabling rapid identification of symptoms affecting network health all the way to a customer's premise equipment (CPE), whether a a server, workstation or set top box. Network probes give carriers, service providers and enterprises the tools they need to improve revenues and profits by increasing customer satisfaction while lowering technical support costs. highly available delivery of network value-added services.
NOC Software is a web-based central monitoring system that helps network administrators improve and refine network services by assessing and managing the perceptual impact of video quality impairments, such as latency, jitter, packet loss, etc., that may be introduced either by transmission over an IP network or from artifacts introduced by various encoding methodologies. NOC software collects real time information from Symmetricom network probes or software agents, storing data in an available integrated structured query language (SQL) database. The information stored in the NOC Software database is displayed remotely through secured web access and shared with external OSS.
Software Agents deliver performance metrics, end-to-end. Typical applications include IPTV, VoIP, client-to-server performance monitoring and remote diagnosis of networking problems for most LAN/WAN environment such as Wi-Fi, xDSL (data, video) or cable modems. Software agents are based a revolutionary advanced technology that is easy to implement and places no strain on existing infrastructure.
